Courtney’s Fresh Start in Trucks: Finding Her Place and Empowering Women in the Automotive Industry

Courtney’s journey into the automotive industry is still fresh, but she’s already found her place. After six years working in customer service for a manufacturer, she made the leap to Patterson Cheney Trucks in January this year, stepping into the role of receptionist.
“I’ve only been here three months, but it already feels like home,” she says with a smile. “Everyone’s really welcoming and friendly. I sit next to Donna (Service Advisor), and having her there from the start made it so much easier to settle in.”
The transition into her role was smooth, thanks to a supportive team and great onboarding. “It was easy to jump into things. Amber’s (Financial Controller) been awesome, she’s always helping out and making sure I know what I’m doing.”
“It’s great seeing women in the industry. I would love to see more of women, to be honest. But being here doesn’t feel any different from other workplaces. It’s easy to fit in.”
Her advice for other women thinking about joining the industry is simple: “Just go for it. It’s not as hard or intimidating as it seems. If you’re a people person and you can communicate well, you’ll be fine.”
Friendly, approachable, and open to learning, Courtney is already proving that you don’t need years of automotive experience to thrive. You just need the right attitude and a solid support crew around you.
Thank you, Courtney for sharing your story and being such a crucial part of the Patterson Cheney Trucks team!
